The history of cities is linked with the history of city streets. What do we know about the streets on which we live, on which we walk on business or where we often rest? As a rule - nothing.
Memorial plaques and other "attempts" to tell about the uniqueness of the place on the facades of houses are rarely noticed even by tourists. But everyone willingly uses gadgets and mobile applications: taking pictures, making routes, reading news or downloading music. Mobile is always at your hands.
We decided to combine all this trends in the "Streets' Voice" to tell the history of city streets to everyone who is interested in it. "Streets' Voice" is an initiative to install address pointers with QR-codes. Scanning it, you can learn more interesting facts about the streets: to read, to watch, to listen.

“The "Street's Voice" project is interesting both for the Far East as a whole and for Kolyma. The history of Magadan is very young, but, nevertheless, very rich. The city grew rapidly among the uninhabited hills, turning into an industrial and logistics center of the Far North-East. Some of its streets have changed their names and numbering of houses several times, some are still named after long-disappeared shops and cafes. There are buildings here that are worthy of a separate excursion, some of the enterprises have disappeared, but left their names to quarters and stops. We seem to live in two realities at once: the past and the present. This is familiar to the old-timers, but it is no longer incomprehensible to the younger generation. "Street's Voice" helps to "read" the book of the city and feel like a part of its history, to understand why it is the way it is.”

The "Street's Voice" project is a great chance to get to know your city better. Thanks to such studies, the streets “come to life” and now, passing, for example, along Krasintsev, I more vividly imagine the distant history of this place. In addition, this knowledge now explains many modern things. For example, the location of certain monuments in the center of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the accuracy of old buildings in the city. Of course, time did not spare the hundred-year-old houses, but now, from ordinary old houses, they have turned for me into a telling story, rich, sometimes unusual. I would like the project "Voice of the Streets" to develop further, so that more and more residents of the region learn the history of "their place".”
